I love to prepare my meals as much as possible. With that I don’t just refer to cooking by myself. But also to producing my own milk. The great thing is that this is not only much cheaper than buying almond milk, soy milk, oat milk or the like. And not only that, but it is also Zero Waste and you can adjust it to your taste.
Why I make my own almond milk
As already mentioned, I am an absolute fan of homemade products. I’m absolutely aware that it’s not about making everything from scratch. That is often not possible or too complex… Unfortunately. Although having a mango tree would be so amazing!
I rather want to focus on doing what is possible for me and not only saving money and resources with this, but also preparing something quick and easy.
And that definitely includes my almond milk! When I started making it myself, I was more than amazed at how fast it is done and how good it tastes! And what’s even more amazing: far too often there are additives in bought milk that are supposed to make the product more durable, creamier or something else. But these are all by-products that we can simply remove from our diet when we start making the products ourselves. And that’s exactly why I love my almond milk so much.
- 300 ml water
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- depending on your taste: vanilla, cinnamon, 2 dates, beetroot powder or so many more possibilities to get creative
- add the water, almond butter and the spices into your blender
- mix it up
- pour the liquid into a jar
- enjoy it fresh, in your granola or for recipes
